An Attractive Driveway

About Me

An Attractive Driveway

Once my spouse and I found our dream home, we needed to sell the older fixer-upper we currently lived in. To successfully sell our house quickly, we needed to complete a few remodeling projects. We wanted to attract the largest number of potential buyers as possible to our home. One great project to complete before putting your home on the market is paving your driveway. This project will immediately enhance your property’s curb appeal. For families with multiple drivers at home, installing a circle driveway is also a smart idea. On this blog, I hope you will discover the steps a paving contractor takes to give homeowners beautiful new driveways.

Are You Landscaping The Front Of Your Home?

Do you enjoy spending time outside? If so, you might also enjoy gardening. While you might have been sad at the end of summer, you are now probably very pleased that spring and summer of 2019 are just weeks away. You might have decided that 2019 will bring new landscaping to the front of your house. If so, front selecting a circular driveway to including a hardscape as part of your front yard design, here are some ideas that might help you to create a unique and attractive setting for the front of your house.

Asphalt Paving - Is there enough space in the front of your house to include a circular driveway as part of your new landscaping design? If so, consider hiring a driveway installation company to create a unique circular driveway. For example, use asphalt paving for the greater portion of the circular driveway. However, consider adding drama to the driveway by choosing a different material for the area that lead up to the entry way of your house, and then extends for the same amount of space at the other end of the driveway.

Brick or flagstone would both be great choices to add interest to your asphalt circular driveway. Or, consider combining both bricks and flagstone in the design. The business that provides the work will more than likely have pictures of work they have done in the past. Consider adapting your own design to designs the company has done in the past. The great part about choosing asphalt, brick and flagstone is that they will all withstand harsh weather and they are easy to maintain.

Hardscape Addition - For even more interest to your front yard landscaping, consider having a hardscape as part of the design.  The same company that does your circular driveway can also give you the foundation you want for your hardscape. For example, if you chose to add bricks and flagstone to the driveway design, consider using them in your hardscape, too. If you went with only asphalt paving, consider faux painting the asphalt in your hardscape.

If you do decide to have faux painting done to the hardscape, consider having professionals create a unique look by selecting something like a Talavera tile look or a marble look for the faux painting design. Or, if you want a more rustic look, consider choosing the look of old wooden planks for the hardscape faux painting.
